MESSAGE FROM PRESIDENT ANDREW HOLMAN

Greetings from the Middle Atlantic and New England Council for Canadian Studies and welcome to our website. This website is your window on the network of scholars who study, research, write about and teach Canada in the colleges and universities of our region. Here, you will find news about our members and upcoming events, and become acquainted with the resources available to MANECCS members.

MANECCS is a busy organization and its members participate in a wide range of events that examine our northern neighbor from many scholarly perspectives. In the coming year, MANECCS will sponsor a panel at the Association for Canadian Studies in the U.S. (ACSUS) biennial meeting in San Diego (November 2009) and hold its annual general membership meeting there. MANECCS will host a Canadian Studies Colloquium in Spring 2010. We will prepare for our own biennial regional conference scheduled for October 2010 in Providence, Rhode Island. And we will keep our members up to date about things Canadian with our biannual newsletter.

To those of you who currently enjoy membership in MANECCS, I look forward to working with you in the coming year. To those of you who are discovering MANECCS for the first time, welcome. I encourage you to explore Canadian Studies through MANECCS and to look to us for the support you need to begin studying and teaching Canada.
